Rosie | programme lead

Rosie Bensley is Learning Through Horses CEO and Founder. She has 15 years experience training horses, with a specific interest in horses with behavioural problems. 

She has completed equine assisted therapy training with EAGALA and has worked with vulnerable young people and horses for 6 years providing alternative education programmes.

Learning Through Horses Programme Lead. HCPC Reg. Psychotherapist, trained and certified in the EAGALA model. 

Over the past 9 years I have worked as a Youth Worker and delivered therapeutic services to both children and adults in voluntary sector organisations and more recently the NHS working in Adult Mental Health services.

Seema is an EAGALA trained Equine Specialist. She has worked with people dealing with homelessness, substance use, domestic abuse and trauma.

She combines her knowledge of horses and experience of working with people in crisis to address emotional and interpersonal challenges that have negatively affected their lives.

Julia | programme lead

Julia Fisher is a nationally respected horse trainer, with an in depth understanding of horse psychology and behaviour.

​She is an Intelligent Horsemanship Recommended Trainer and regularly runs clinics and demonstrations teaching other horse professionals how to further their understanding of horse psychology.

roxanne

With over 20 years experience in the private and charitable sectors, including Hill & Knowlton, Oxfam, Save the Children and British Red Cross, she has a successful track record of developing and implementing programmes.

Roxanne is Head of Service Development for YoungMinds - 
UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health.

zara

Zara has worked at Strength and Learning through horses since 2016. She particularly enjoys bringing all her skills and interests together and working with the many young people who attend the centre.

She has a Masters in Osteopathy at the British College of Osteopathic medicine and a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Psychology from Sussex University.

Kate assists with our education programmes and leads our corporate team building offering.

Joining us from the corporate world as Managing Director of her own business Angel Oversees, Kate is proficient and experienced in communications, events and project management and networking. Kate will be your point of contact for managing your next corporate event!

holly

Holly Lieberson is qualified as a Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner, working with children and young people (IATE). She has also trained with International Institute of Animal Assisted Play TherapyTM and is currently working towards certification with IIAAPTTM.

She incorporates both horses and dogs into her educational and therapeutic practice.

Laura is a ILM Level 5 Transformational Coach as well as a qualified Equine Facilitated Coach. Her experience nannying for many years has benefited her approach, she believes a friendly and open attitude helps people learn more as they are relaxed. 

Creating a welcoming enviroment for our young people is her top priority, which helps make our programmes run effectively.

Saskia is a Psychology student currently completing her degree, with a wild love for the equine world.

She has been with Strength and Learning Through horses for 3 years and has been around horses all her life.

Volunteering gives her an opportunity to combine her two biggest interests.

Jane began as a volunteer in April 2018 and took up the role of Assistant in both Education and Therapy.

Jane's role enables her to combine her experience as a counsellor with her knowledge of handling horses
